Hello there folks there’s another discovery here with not just Audio goodness but audio savings as well at the same time… there were about 10 people following the first post I had for the other gear and now got to follow on this one as well…
Cool… if you are looking for an audio interface then this might be two of your choices… whether you need 6 ins 10 outs or a 16 ins and 16 outs… it’s good because not just the savings you gonna get if you buy them but the added features they will give you… or that you will benefit from them… in the recent NAMM show 2012 Behringer hit it again with it’s newest interface… the Behringer FCA 1616 you would know they have done their homework on this one as well considering what’s available in the market and what they have added unto it… tell me if you have found an interface in the market that’s got both USB and FIREWIRE to connect whatever set up you have? also, tell me if you have found an interface that’s got insert points for your outboard gears… if your answer is NONE then this one does them all in one piece. I would say very very very cool and one of my classmates bidding on it now… hahaha… well, saving some cash to order… it’s only $249 for the 16×16 sampling on 96khz with 24bit… can’t beat this one mate… this is really AUDIO GOODNESS PLUS AUDIO SAVINGS…
as a owner of a profire 2626 , i am a bit upset in behringer for the following reasons;
1. the price , beats the price of the profire hands down.
2. the insert points , this aint such a problem if you use a desk before the interface in your signal chain.
3. they could of give a better clock speed and a higher jitter error correction function.
i dont know how behringer get away whith it. all they have done is taken the break away cable off the system , removed a 2 adat ports , added insert points. and they have the cheek to change the name from 2626 to 1616 lol.
also dont understand the need for usb unless it is usb3 , for god sake if you have firewire use it its faster
as an avid fan of behringer i an impressed with the new lines they have brought out. but i am a bit skeptical over reliability issues and how the preamps will compare to the ones in the profire.
p.s. i am enjoying your articles on audio equipment ric, keep up the good work , and remeber guys trust your ears not the gears.
good points man… but for the price and for people who dont want spend more for a desk … inserts very handy for home producers… the clock issues we’ll wait for the final figures from behringer… but mate… 249 dollars for a 16 ins and 16 outs… huh… its really a steal…
i agree they is nothing else like it on the market for the price , and now that protools is a stand alone piece of software i think they will have great suckses with it .
